It was wonderful to have Janne back at the church for the Sunday meeting on March 23rd. If you weren't there, you can watch the service here: https://www.youtube.com/live/AHeb7nD9xjU?feature=share
Janne is open about his situation. He believes in God's healing, but he also wants to fully embrace the life he has now. He is wheelchair-bound and paralyzed from the waist down. His left arm is slowly starting to function after surgery, but he doesn't know yet how well it will work and how long it will take. His head has gone through a powerful trauma, which currently affects his capacity and makes him tired in social interactions. He loves spending time with his family, friends, and fellow church members, but he is also aware of his limitations at the moment. We believe in God's healing power to strengthen him more and more.
The municipality has started the process of adapting their home to his new life. There are some renovations that are required. In the meantime, Janne will continue to stay at the hospital. He believes he will be able to go home after the month of May.
He is still on sick leave and will gradually be phased back into work. How and when he returns will depend on how his situation improves and in what capacity he will be able to function. We are excited that we will soon have him at the church more often, although initially in limited periods of time. We ask for your understanding that further updates will not be provided here, as the process is moving forward as described above.
Janne prays for all of us, and we pray for him and his wonderful family. Let us hold fast to the words we have received about his situation and remind ourselves that God is the God of miracles.
